CIDER APPLES

Preserving orchards means preserving apples. Local apples are the base for craft cider.

The newly approved PDO Euskal Sagardoa allows the use of 115 Basque varieties, among which around 24 are the most used.

This picture was taken in the Sagardoetxea Basque Cider Museum. In harvest time, the museum shows the varieties grown on its own orchard.
