The Basque cider culture is at the origin of our love for world ciders. Sagardoa, literally “apple wine”, is the drink that pumps Ciderzale’s heart. We work for different associations and producers in the promotion of the product and its culture and we have extensive knowledge about Basque cider and its context.

We organize commented Basque cider tastings during which we offer a talk about the cultural and historical background of this product, as well as the reality that the industry is currently experiencing. We offer information on the apple varieties used, the production process and the different marks that certify both the origin and the quality of the product.

During the tastings, in addition to the traditional natural cider, there is the possibility of tasting other products that are the result of the diversification of the sector, such as sparkling ciders, ice ciders or oak barrel aged ciders.

Cider tastings can be arranged paired with typical dishes of the place where the event is held, or with a Basque-inspired menu. We help to design a meal based on the traditional cider house menu or with pintxos, the exquisite small pieces of food typical of the Basque cuisine.
